Andromeda: LaTeX Rendering for Substack
You can finally write math-heavy articles on Substack!!!
It’s my pleasure to introduce Andromeda! A Chrome extension that lets you render inline and block-based LaTeX in Substack articles. I’ve been wanting Substack to release this feature for a long time but it hasn’t happened yet.
“Fine, I’ll do it myself” ~ Thanos, Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)
Here’s an example of a $$\LaTeX$$ block:
$$a + b + \sqrt{c} + \int_a^b x^3 + 5 ~dx$$
You can also write inline LaTeX like $$A = Q \Lambda Q^{-1}$$ or $$c = a + b$$
I'm a little frustrated by this, as it requires people then to download the extension to read your articles. Maybe there's a way to host another site that pulls in substack articles and renders in the LaTeX? Kind of similar to how Fruition intercepts public Notion pages and adds styles.
